The Snow Hill Gateway Trust and the Gateway Centre
Who we are The Snow Hill Gateway Trust is a small charity (registered number 1157851) connected to St Swithin’s, the parish church for Walcot, Bath. It owns the Gateway Centre, Snow Hill, and is putting together a project to modernise the building. The Gateway Centre is a community centre run for the benefit of local residents in the Snow Hill and London Road area. There are regular community-based events every week (eg toddlers, ladies’ group, men’s group, youth club, exercise sessions); larger community events every month (eg community tea, quiz night and pizza evening); and holiday activities. The centre is also available for private hire. Our aim is that events at the centre should be organised and run by local people with the minimum of support from our centre manager, Domenica Oatley (known as Domi). Latest news See What’s on page for latest information about activities and events. The trustees have spent the last few months reappraising the project, and have decided to commission a feasibility study to provide more options for modifying the Gateway Centre. We are also looking to involve the Snow Hill and London Road communities in the management of the centre. If you’re interested, please contact the Secretary, Henry Brown, at henry@highgate.myzen.co.uk or 07990 585493.
